On Monday, September 30, 2024, at approximately 8:20 p.m., Austin Police responded to 9120 Northgate Blvd. for the call of a shooting. Officers arrived to find a Black male on the ground with an apparent gunshot wound. This male was later identified as Ahsun Madison. He was pronounced deceased on scene at 9:01 p.m.
 
Homicide Detectives and Crime Scene Specialists responded to process the scene and interview witnesses. Officers were able to identify the suspect as a 16-year-old Hispanic male as he had been involved in multiple shootings in the area earlier this year including Homicide #4 and was out on bond for prior shootings. To clarify, this suspect was not the shooter in Homicide #4 but was present during the incident.

This investigation showed the suspect had shot and killed Ahsun Madison at this apartment complex and then fled the scene. Austin Police Gang Detectives located the suspect, and he was arrested for the murder. He was booked into Gardner-Betts for 1^st Degree Murder.
