Suspect (arrested):  William Bruce, Black male, 31 years of age

On Friday, November 15, 2024, at approximately 12:42 a.m., Austin Police Department (APD) officers responded to the 8400 block of Goldfinch Court for reports of a shooting. When officers arrived on the scene, they found one victim, later identified as Travis Holland, on the ground outside with an apparent gunshot wound. Mr. Holland was pronounced deceased on the scene at 1:01 a.m. Officers were able to detain the suspect, who was later identified as William Bruce.

Homicide Detectives and Crime Scene Specialists responded to process the scene and interview witnesses. The investigation showed that Mr. Holland was walking around the area when Bruce shot Mr. Holland from his porch.

Bruce was arrested for 1st Degree Murder and booked into Travis County jail.
