Victim (Deceased):  Kelly Meazell, White female, 7/18/89

On Thursday, January 9, 2025, at approximately 1:44 a.m., Austin Police Department (APD) officers responded to a Check Welfare Urgent call at 5707 Manor Road. The caller advised of a female in the parking lot laying in a pool of blood. Officers arrived on scene and located a female, later identified as Kelly Meazell, with apparent trauma. She was pronounced at 2:11 a.m.
 
Homicide Detectives and Crime Scene Specialists responded to process the scene and interview witnesses. The investigation is in the early stages and is ongoing. This appears to be an isolated incident and it is not believed there is any danger to the public.

This case is being investigated as Austin's 2nd homicide of 2025.
