On Monday, November 25, 2024, at approximately 10:58 p.m., Austin Police Department (APD) officers responded to shoot/stab hot shot call at 414 East Wonsley Drive. Officers responded and located a deceased person, later identified as Xavier Jones Jr., with a gunshot wound inside the residence.

Homicide Detectives and Crime Scene Specialists responded to process the scene and interview witnesses. The initial investigation showed multiple unknown subjects had forced entry into the apartment by shooting the sliding glass door, shooting and killing Jones in the process. The subjects then stole jewelry from Jones’ person before fleeing the scene.

This case is being investigated as Austin's 65th homicide of 2024.
