Suspect (arrested):  Alex Trevino, Hispanic male, 34 years of age

On July 24, 2024, at approximately 10:29 a.m., Austin Police Department (APD) officers responded to a Shoot/Stab Hotshot call at 2101 Burton Drive. The caller stated someone had been stabbed. Officers and Austin-Travis County Emergency Medical Services (A/CTEMS) arrived on scene and located a subject who had injuries consistent with a stab wound. Life-saving measures were performed on the subject, but he was subsequently pronounced deceased on the scene. The victim was later identified as Javier Antonio Navarro Quesada.
 
Homicide Detectives and Crime Scene Specialists responded to process the scene and interview witnesses. The investigation showed the altercation was a result of a vehicle which had been stolen. Alex Trevino was arrested and booked into the Travis County Jail. He is charged with murder.
