On Saturday, May 4, 2024, at approximately 3:26 a.m., Austin Police Department (APD) officers responded to the 1800 block of Colony Creek Drive for the call of a shooting. Officers arrived and located a male on the ground with an apparent gunshot wound. Austin-Travis County Emergency Medical Services (A/TCEMS) arrived on scene and pronounced the male, later identified as Nicholas Taylor, deceased at 3:37 a.m.

 

Homicide detectives and Crime Scene Specialists responded to process the scene and interview witnesses. It was determined the victim was pulled from his vehicle and shot, then the suspect fled the area. Detectives are still actively working the homicide and are asking for anyone with any information to come forward.

This case is being investigated as Austin's 19th homicide of 2024.
