On Thursday, October 19, 2023, at approximately 10:11 p.m., Austin Police Department (APD) Officers responded to a call reporting a shooting at the Estates at East Riverside apartments located at 1300 Crossing Place. Officers arrived at the scene and located a juvenile male with gunshot wounds. Austin-Travis County Emergency Medical Services (ATCEMS) arrived on scene, but the juvenile died a short time later.

Homicide Detectives and Crime Scene Specialists responded to process the scene and interview witnesses. A subject of interest has been identified in the case. The investigation is still ongoing.

This case is being investigated as Austin's 55th homicide of 2023.
