Deceased:  Henry Martinez, Hispanic male, 8/8/1994

On April 12, 2025, at approximately 4:40 a.m., Austin 9-1-1 received the call of a shooting at an apartment complex located at 12612 N. Lamar Boulevard. Officers arrived on scene and located an unresponsive male, later identified as Henry Martinez, in the parking lot with apparent gunshot wounds. Mr. Martinez was pronounced deceased at 4:52 a.m.
 
Homicide Detectives and Crime Scene Specialists responded to process the scene and interview witnesses. The initial investigation showed that Mr. Martinez ran up to his ex-girlfriend’s vehicle with a pickaxe and was shot by a man who was inside the vehicle. The investigation is ongoing.
