On Monday, November 25, 2024, at approximately 1:40 p.m., Austin Police Department (APD) officers responded to a shooting at 1212 W Parmer Lane. The caller, later identified as Steven Rippley, stated that he had shot someone under the bridge. Officers responded and located a deceased male with what appeared to be gunshot wounds. The unidentified male was pronounced deceased at 1:59 p.m. 
 
Homicide Detectives and Crime Scene Specialists responded to process the scene and interview witnesses. The investigation showed Rippley had a history with the victim, which appeared to be an on-going feud. Rippley claimed that the victim had allegedly threatened him with a rock in his hand so Rippley shot him multiple times.
 
Rippley was arrested for 1st Degree Murder and booked into the Travis County jail.
