On Friday, January 12, 2024 at approximately 7:54 p.m., Austin Police Department (APD) Officers responded to reports of a shooting at 11441 N IH 35. Officers arrived on scene and stopped a vehicle described by 911 callers, and located a passenger with multiple gunshot wounds inside. The victim, Cleiver Gamez-Santos, was taken to a local hospital, where he was pronounced deceased at 8:40 p.m.
 
Homicide detectives and crimes scene specialists responded to process the scene. During the course of the investigation, information was gathered by investigators that the victim was shot in the apartment complex and was in the process of being driven away from the scene when the vehicle was stopped by officers.
 
The Austin Police Department is asking the public for any information related to this murder.
