Arrested: David Ontiveros, Hispanic male, 42-years-old
On Friday, April 22, 2022, at approximately 4:00 p.m., David Ontiveros called 911 saying he shot and killed his wife and stepson at their home in the 6400 block of Garden View Dr. Austin Police Department (APD) officers responded and took Ontiveros into custody. Upon entering the residence to check the welfare of the wife and stepson, officers located two victims with obvious life-threatening trauma. The male victim was pronounced deceased at the scene at 4:21 p.m. by Dr. Escott. The female victim was taken to Dell Seton with life-threatening injuries. Despite life-saving measures, the female died from her injuries and was pronounced deceased at 5:00 p.m. The victims are Rudy Limon-Lirra and Christina Limon.
Homicide detectives and Crimes Scene personnel responded to process the scene. After interviewing witnesses and reviewing video surveillance, David Ontiveros was booked into the Travis County Jail for Capital Murder.
On 04/23/2022, The Travis County Medical Examiner’s Office conducted autopsies. The official cause of death was gunshot wounds, and the official manner of death was determined to be homicide for both victims.
