Deceased: Nikolas Eugenio Martinez, Hispanic male, born March 21, 1998
The Austin Police Department (APD) has identified Nikolas Eugenio Martinez as the deceased in the July 23 homicide on the S. IH 35 West Frontage Rd.
Austin 9-1-1 received a call from Nikolas Eugenio Martinez saying that he had been stabbed. He was able to drive a short distance to a convenience store in the 2000 block of S. IH 35 where several citizens attempted to assist him. APD officers and Austin-Travis County EMS arrived on scene and located Mr. Martinez with a life-threatening stab wound. Despite life saving measures, Mr. Martinez succumbed to his injury and was pronounced deceased on the scene at 10:47 p.m. by Dr. Abraham.
Homicide investigators and crime scene technicians responded to process the scene and interview witnesses.
On July 24, 2021, the Travis County Medical Examiner’s office conducted an autopsy.
