On Thursday, April 28, 2022, at approximately 12:44 P.M, Austin Police Department (APD officers) responded to shots fired call at the 1100 Blk of Eastfield Ave. Officers saw a female shot by her vehicle parked on the street upon arrival. A family member took the female victim to Dell Seton Medical Center. Despite life-saving measures, the female died from her injuries and was pronounced deceased at 1:02 by Dr. Price. The victim is Ishanae Rogers.
Homicide detectives and Crimes Scene personnel responded to process the scene. The investigation shows Eric Deon Rollins fleeing the area in a 2008 Red Convertible Ford Mustang immediately after the shooting.
Rollins is the suspect in another murder 10 minutes later in an alley at the 400 Blk. of 6th street. Retaliation for a robbery earlier that morning appears to be the motive. The Lonestar Fugitive Task Force arrested Rollins in 500 Blk. of W. 10th Street. He is in the Travis County Jail on two counts of 1st Degree Murder. Rollins was released recently from jail on an ankle monitor for an outstanding Sexual Assault of a Child case with APD.
On 04/29/2022, The Travis County Medical Examiner's conducted an autopsy and determined the cause of death was a gunshot wound and the manner, Homicide.

This is being investigated as Austin's 23rd homicide of 2022.
