The City of Austin Development Services Department (DSD) is pleased to announce the launch of DSD Info Series, a new educational series designed to connect with the Austin community, share expert knowledge, and highlight the vital services provided by DSD and our partners. Starting in March, these sessions will be held regularly on a variety of topics, either in-person or online.  

Upcoming Sessions Include: 

• March 25, 2025, 2 - 3 p.m. | Online – "Permitting: Where Do I Start?"  
  A beginner-friendly introduction to DSD's neighborhood, homeowner, and small business support teams, ideal for Austinites looking to connect with city services or learn more about available resources.

• April 15, 2025, 11 a.m. - Noon | Online – “Building Under HOME: 2-unit, 3-unit, and duplex (HOME Phase 1) 
  Explore the possibilities of building 2-unit, 3-unit, and duplex properties under the HOME Initiative Phase 1. Learn how the new code amendments passed by the Austin City Council enhance housing diversity and supply. 

• April 22, 2025, 11 a.m. - Noon | Online – “Building Under HOME: Tiny Homes, Big Opportunities 
  Discover the potential of tiny homes and how the HOME Initiative supports the integration of tiny homes as a housing solution, creating big opportunities in compact living spaces. 

• April 26, 2025, 11 a.m. - Noon | George Morales Dove Springs Recreation Center (5801 Ainez Dr., Austin, TX 78744) – "Spring Cleaning: Home Maintenance Tips" 
  Learn important codes and resources to keep your home and neighborhoods safe, clean, and well-maintained during the spring season.
