On Friday, April 19, 2024, at approximately 7:06 p.m., Austin Police Department (APD) officers responded to reports of a deceased person at the 5800 block of Spring Meadow Road. Officers arrived on scene and located a male subject who was pronounced deceased.
 
Detectives and Crime Scene Specialists responded to process the scene. The male was later identified as Cristian Rangel. Rangel had been previously reported missing by the Austin Police Department on April 8, 2024.
 
This case is an ongoing Death Investigation by the Austin Police Department.
