Applications are due July 31, 2024

AUSTIN, Texas — The Mayor’s Health and Well-Being Council (MHWC), in partnership with Austin Public Health (APH), has opened the 2024 application for workplaces to become MHWC Partner Certified and to apply to be recognized as one of the Mayor’s Healthiest Workplaces in Austin.

The MHWC’s Workplace Partner Certification program seeks to recognize organizations that demonstrate a commitment to implementing best practices aimed at improving health and well-being within their workplaces. By achieving MHWC Partner Certification, organizations will be acknowledged for their efforts in areas such as nutrition, physical activity, tobacco-free living, health education and preventative services, policies and programs.

Partner Certified workplaces can then go on to compete for the Mayor’s Healthiest Workplaces Awards. Applications for Partner Certification and Healthiest Workplaces Awards are due July 31, 2024.

In addition, this year MHWC will recognize Faith Community partners that have met health and wellness goals. Faith communities wishing to participate can receive technical assistance from APH to set and meet health and well-being goals.

About the Mayor’s Health & Well-Being Council:

Established in 2004, the MHWC is a nonprofit 501(c)3 organization dedicated to making Austin the healthiest community in the country. The council's mission is to provide community connections, build alliances and support the implementation of best practices and programs to improve well-being. We are working to achieve this mission by partnering with worksites, schools, faith communities and other strategic partners to promote healthy lifestyles in the Austin area.

This year marks the 20th Year Anniversary of the MHWC. Throughout two decades of dedicated service, the council's initiatives have positively impacted thousands of individuals and families, propelling forward the promotion of healthier living environments and instilling a culture of prioritizing health within our communities. As we celebrate this milestone anniversary, we reflect on the MHWC's impactful legacy and recommit ourselves to its mission of building a healthier and more vibrant Austin for generations to come.
