The Austin Police Department (APD) Robbery Unit is requesting public assistance with locating a suspect involved in a Robbery by Assault that occurred at the Walmart located at 1030 Norwood Park Boulevard on Sunday, February 2, 2025, at approximately 5 p.m.
On the above date and time, a suspect, later identified as Servando Cruz Jr., arrived in the Walmart parking lot in a red Corvette. Cruz displayed a handgun to the victims and stole their French Bulldog puppy. APD patrol officers located the Corvette a short distance away and attempted to detain Cruz, but he fled the scene at a high rate of speed.
On February 6, 2025, the APD SWAT team, Violent Crimes Task Force, and Robbery Unit executed a search warrant at a residence in Dale, Texas. A search of the property resulted in the safe recovery of the stolen puppy, two firearms, one of which was reported stolen, and a red Corvette Stingray, which was reported stolen out of Leander, Texas.
The Corvette is suspected to be involved in various criminal offenses in the Central Texas area. If you recognize the Corvette as a vehicle being involved in a criminal act, please contact the Austin Police Department with any information.
Servando Cruz Jr. was not located and is currently wanted for three felony warrants (two counts of Aggravated Robbery with a Deadly Weapon and one count of Evading Motor Vehicle). We have included images of Servando Cruz Jr. and the Corvette Stingray below.
The puppy, pictured below, was reunited with its family on Thursday, February 6, 2025.
