The Austin Police Department (APD) is requesting the public’s assistance with identifying a suspect in connection to a case of mail theft that occurred at the Villas on Guadalupe apartment complex located at 2810 Hemphill Park. The suspect has had multiple offenses, most recently on Saturday, July 17, 2024, at approximately 3:30 a.m.
The suspect, whose photos and description are included below, broke into the apartment community’s mail room and used force to open the mail boxes. The suspect stole several pieces of mail and gave them to a male accomplice who concealed several letters and acted as a “look out.” The accomplice is a known mail thief and has since been identified, and will have a pending warrant for his arrest.
The suspect is described as:
- White or Hispanic female
- Early to mid 30s
- Tattoo on right shoulder
- “Texas” tattoo on left inner wrist
The suspect was last seen wearing:
- Glasses
- Blue “Texas CASA Distinguished Speakers” t-shirt
- Denim jeans
- White sneakers with black stripes and black socks
