The Austin Police Department (APD) Sex Crimes Unit requests the public's help in identifying a suspect, whose sketch is included above, in a case involving Attempted Sexual Assault.
On Sunday, July 21, 2024, around 5 p.m., the suspect approached a victim walking on the Ann & Roy Butler trail parallel to the 1700 block of South Lakeshore Boulevard. The suspect asked the victim what time it was in Spanish, and the victim showed the suspect the time on their cell phone screen. The suspect then grabbed the victim by the arms, threw them to the ground, began to touch them inappropriately, and attempted to sexually assault them.
The suspect is described as:
- Hispanic male
- Approximately 6’0”
- Dark complexion
- Heavy build
- Large hands
- Brown eyes
- Black hair
The suspect was last seen wearing:
- Navy blue backwards hat
- Navy blue shirt
- Gym shorts
