The Austin Police Department (APD) Robbery Unit is requesting the public’s assistance with identifying a suspect involved in a Robbery by Threat case that occurred at the Toy Joy toy store located at 5501 Burnet Road. The incident occurred on Thursday, March 6, 2025, at approximately 8:20 p.m.
The suspect, whose photo and description is included in this release, stole several boxes of Lego brand building sets. When an employee attempted to stop the suspect, the suspect threatened to shoot the employee. The suspect left the scene on foot and headed northbound on Adams Avenue.
Businesses in the area have preliminary video that shows the suspect leaving through the residential neighborhood.
APD Detectives are seeking any other doorbell or surveillance videos showing the suspect leaving through the neighborhood surrounding Adams Avenue and Ulrich Avenue on Thursday, March 6, 2025, at 8:20 p.m.
The Austin Police Department are also seeking any information that could potentially identify the suspect in this case.
The suspect is described as:
- Middle Eastern male
- 30 - 40 years of age
- 5’7” – 5’8” tall
- medium build
- Black hair with full beard
- He was last seen wearing a black mid length leather jacket, black jeans/pants, and black shoes
