UPDATE: APD's Vehicular Homicide Unit is requesting the public's assistance in identifying a suspect in connection to a fatal crash between a vehicle and a pedestrian that occurred on Sunday, November 10, 2024, at approximately 6:29 p.m. The pedestrian, later identified as Kyla Walker, was pronounced deceased on scene. The vehicle did not stop and left the scene.
The suspect vehicle is described as:

- Honda Accord
- 2008 to 2010
- White in color
- Possible damage to the front passenger side of the vehicle
- Front-right passenger bumper and fog light missing as a result of the crash
- Passenger side mirror missing as a result of the crash

On Sunday, November 10, 2024 at approximately 6:29 p.m., Austin Police Department (APD) officers responded to a crash between a vehicle and a pedestrian at the intersection of East Stassney Lane and Teri Road. The pedestrian, later identified as Kyla Walker, was pronounced deceased on scene. The vehicle did not stop and left the scene.
This incident is being investigated as Austin’s 76th fatal crash of 2024, resulting in 81 fatalities. On the date of this crash in 2023, 77 fatal crashes resulted in 80 fatalities.
These statements are from the initial assessment of the fatal crash, and the investigation is still pending. Fatality information may change.
