The Austin Police Department Vehicular Homicide unit is requesting the public’s assistance in locating a suspect in connection to a fatal crash between a vehicle and a pedestrian that occurred in the 7400 block of Ed Bluestein Boulevard NB on September 17, 2024 at approximately 6:24 a.m. The pedestrian, later identified as Frank Ramos, was pronounced on scene. The suspect vehicle left the scene without stopping or calling 9-1-1.

On Tuesday, September 17, 2024, at 6:24 a.m., Austin Police Department (APD) officers responded to a crash between a vehicle and a pedestrian in the 7400 block of Ed Bluestein Boulevard SVRD NB. The pedestrian was pronounced deceased on scene. The vehicle left the scene without stopping or calling 9-1-1.
This incident is being investigated as Austin’s 64th fatal crash of 2024, resulting in 69 fatalities. On the date of this crash in 2023, 65 fatal crashes resulted in 68 fatalities.
