The Austin Police Department Highway Enforcement Investigations unit is requesting the public’s assistance with identifying the driver of a suspect vehicle involved in a hit-and-run crash that happened on Wednesday, March 20, 2024, at approximately 6:32 p.m. The crash occurred near the intersection of West Slaughter Lane and Riddle Road.
 
A 7-year-old child was riding her bicycle with an adult when the crash happened. The suspect vehicle did not stop to render aid or call 9-1-1 and left the scene immediately after the crash.
 
The suspect driver is described as:

• Black female
• Short hair
• Mid 40 years of age

The suspect vehicle is described as:

• Jeep Compass Latitude 4X2
• Black in color
• 2019
