Austin Police Department (APD) detectives are requesting the public’s help in finding leads or information in connection to an Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon case that occurred on Monday, February 19, 2024, between 5:50 a.m. and 6:00 a.m.
A preliminary investigation revealed that the victim, a Hispanic female in her 60’s, reported to her place of employment with several severe head injuries. The victim was transported to a local hospital and treated for her injuries.
The investigation shows the female exited a CapMetro bus in the area of East Stassney Lane and South Pleasant Valley Road at approximately 5:56 a.m. When the victim exited the bus, she was not injured.
At approximately 6:05 a.m., a CapMetro bus that was across the street captured video of the victim in the grassy area near the bus stop at 4701 East Stassney Lane. The victim was on the ground and appeared to be trying to get up. Based on the victim’s injuries, APD detectives suspect she was attacked or struck by a vehicle.
