The Austin Police Department (APD) Auto Theft unit requests the community’s help identifying a man suspected of stealing a food truck trailer and a pickup truck. The food truck theft happened in the early hours of Sunday, December 11, 2022, in the 9000 block of Research Boulevard.
After an investigation, APD detectives located the food truck, which the suspect altered to hide its original design. Detectives also discovered that a Ram 3500 dually heavy duty pickup truck was used to steal the food truck trailer. The stolen pickup truck has since been recovered along with the food truck.
Around the time of the food truck theft, surveillance video captured images of the suspect entering a convenience store, shoplifting some items, and then leaving in the stolen pickup truck.
The suspect is described as:
- Black male
- Over 6’ tall
- Bald
- Thin build
- Last seen wearing a black shirt, blue jeans, and black shoes.

A reward of up to $1,000 may be available for any information that leads to an arrest.
