Public Information Requests
The Texas Public Information Act gives you the right to access government records, and the public information officer may not ask why you want them. All government information is presumed to be available to the public, with certain exceptions. Visit the Open Records Division webpage.
- Submit a Public Information Request (PIR) online - your request will be assigned to the responsive department(s)
Photo Policy
Austin Transportation and Public Works (TPW) captures photos and videos of people using City infrastructure to highlight mobility improvements across the city. While department staff may use signed releases at times, they are not provided to people in the public right-of-way using City infrastructure. If you see a TPW staff member taking photos in public and you wish not to be photographed or recorded on video, please let the staff member know.
