Join the Fall 2023 Cohort of Youth Voices Rising! This is a free creative and leadership focused program for grades 6th through 8th, hosted by the Asian American Resource Center, Asian Texans for Justice and the Center for Asian American Studies at UT Austin.
Learn how to create your own graphic memoir, document your family histories, and meet Asian American graphic novelists and historians! All while learning about the vast and diverse histories of Asian America through graphic novels and memoirs. Students who complete at least 7 of the 8 sessions will get to take home the graphic novels and a certificate of completion from the Center for Asian American Studies at UT Austin.
Limited space, application required. Free for youth grades 6th through 8th. Snacks provided during program.
Class Dates: October 14, 21, 28, November 4, 11, 18, and December 2 and 9.
