CarverMuseumATX hosts its annual Kwanzaa Celebration Saturday, December 30th from 1-3 p.m. in the Carver Drum (lobby). The program is inspired by Nia "purpose", the principle for the fifth day of Kwanzaa. Our celebration will feature CDF Austin Freedom School scholars with special guest reader Qi Dada from "Riders Against the Storm", Ibrahim Aminou, African percussionist and storyteller, "Spirit of the Drum" featuring poet Ms. Eartha Colson, African bites, crafts and more!

Kwanzaa, a seven-day holiday, celebrates family, community, and culture. By focusing attention on a value system rooted in African traditions, those who observe Kwanzaa hope to bring a sense of restoration to people of the African Diaspora. This Kwanzaa celebration is free and open to the public.
