Metamorphosis Dance’s 2023-2024 season kicks off with AbunDANCE! – an all-new production featuring three distinct pieces: "Les Patineurs," "An American in Paris," and "The Four Seasons," each choreographed and set by an all-female team of artists.

"Les Patineurs" offers an enchanting portrayal of a Victorian skating party on a winter evening, blending subtle comedy with choreography that creates the illusion of dancers gracefully skating across the stage. Artistic Director Melanie Kregel, and Resident Artists Danielle Ehoff and Heather Meeboer helm this whimsical ballet.

In the dream sequence from "An American in Paris," set in post-war Paris, a retired American soldier named Jerry seeks artistic inspiration. Despite meeting models, pedestrians, and a witty salesman, he remains uninspired until he encounters the beautiful Lise and her friends. It's love at first sight as this iconic ballet sequence unfolds. Choreographed and set by Resident Artists Carly Criscoe and Veronica Boccardo.

“The Four Seasons" is a mixed repertoire including ballet, contemporary, and modern dance, featuring Max Richter’s recomposed score of Vivaldi's masterpiece. Each season is represented, starting with Summer and concluding with Spring, under the choreographic direction of Resident Artists Katrina Kutsch, Lauren Hawkins, Nicole Martinez and Heather Meeboer.

About Metamorphosis Dance: Founded and led by women, Metamorphosis Dance has been producing dance performances since 1993. Under the guidance of Artistic Director Melanie Kregel, women artists craft 90% of the company’s original choreography. This project is supported in part by the Texas Commission on the Arts.
