Starting your own 501(c)(3) can feel like a pretty daunting task, but recent changes to the IRS exemption application has made it easier than it's ever been to incorporate your own non-profit arts organization. This workshop will lead you through the simple steps required to incorporate and apply for tax exemption, navigate potential pitfalls, and keep your non-profit status.
Presented by Kate Meehan
Kate Meehan has managed the business end of arts nonprofits for over two decades and has helped several non-profits get organized. Currently, she manages grant writing, taxes, and bookkeeping for several non-profit arts and service organizations, and serves on the board of several others. She is neither a CPA nor a Tax Attorney.
