Looking to adopt a pet this fall? You’re in luck! Adopt a Pet will be waiving pet adoption fees at Austin Animal Center throughout the month of October to encourage adoption this Adopt a Shelter Dog month. Approximately 15% of shelter dogs in Texas never find a home; this initiative is designed to provide a second chance to as many animals as possible.
To kick off this partnership, Austin Animal Center and Adopt a Pet will host a celebratory event that’s free and open to the public on Saturday, October 7th from 11 a.m. – 7 p.m., giving prospective adopters the chance to meet animals and help them find their forever homes. All adoption fees will be waived at the event, and staff and volunteers will be onsite to help adopters find the right match.
