NOTICE OF COMPLAINT
April 28, 2022
ICMS #: 2022-0325
On April 28, 2022, the OPO received an online complaint.
The complainant alleges: I was at a stop light when my vehicle was struck nearly head on by an
oncoming F150. The driver of the truck claimed to have fallen asleep. The driver was obviously
inebriated. The officers involved did not take my concern over his inebriation seriously. This man
could have killed me or someone else. I have received no follow up or closure on an incident where
I thought I was going to die. The driver's negligence was due to him obviously being under the
influence. When I asked the officer what they were doing to investigate a DUI, the officer told me
he "spoke to the driver who was just hanging by the pool all day and just fell asleep." My question
is why this doesn't point to an obvious DUI possibility. The officer did not take me seriously nor
did he provide any sort of compassion.
This notice of complaint is a request for Internal Affairs to initiate an investigation to determine
if the employee conduct is within compliance of APD policy, Civil Service Rules, and Municipal
Civil Service Rules.
