On August 8, 2022, the OPO received a phone complaint.
The complainant alleges: Detective
is closing his case after receiving
video from a laundromat. The detective said he can see the complainant taking the phone
that he reported stolen. The detective is refusing to allow him to see the video. Case #

The complainant is worried that the laundromat will erase the video. It has been
days, he needs his phone, and he knows who stole it and where it is. Detective
won't answer his calls and doesn't respect him or 311 operators. Many have tried to reach
him but he doesn't answer or reply at all.
This notice of complaint is a request for Internal Affairs to initiate an investigation to
determine if the employee conduct is within compliance of APD policy, Civil Service
Rules, and Municipal Civil Service Rules.
