CITY OF OFFICE OF NOTICE OF FORMAL POLICE OVERSIGHT COMPLAINT FOUNDED 1839 ICMS #: 2020-1015 June 17, 2020 Complaint: The Office of Police Oversight received an anonymous online complaint stating as follows: "An APD officer shot me with a rubber bullet around . on . I was standing around 30 feet away from the officer in a crowd of people I was not doing anything other than holding my sign; nor was anyone around me. The officer raised his gun, pointed it out the crowd, and shot me. I believe at least one other person was shot at that time, and several APD officers pepper sprayed people in the crowd shortly after. I currently have a 5-inch hematoma on my thigh and a bruise that extends from right below my hip crease to my knee. My leg is numb at the point of impact, but the rest of my thigh is painful to the touch and it hurts to walk." The City of Austin is committed to compliance with the American Disabilities Act.
