Complaint: Complainant,
alleges: On
Officer
and
were at their residence of
Between the times
of
the officers shot fireworks (which are illegal in Kyle, TX) into the air.
They released a series of 4 fireworks, each getting consecutively louder. Many residents were
woken up and one residence ring doorbell captured a video of the fireworks going off from
backyard. All of this is documented on Facebook posts including the video. My
father who is a US army veteran of 23 years was woken up out of his sleep by the loud sounds that
sounded like gunshots. As a result he experienced a PTSD episode. Other veterans in the
neighborhood also experienced a jump and anxiety because of this, a mother who has autistic
children had a hard time calming her sons down after the fireworks went off. We then went to
to officer
home and asked her to stop the fireworks. She asked us to get off
her property, refused to admit that she did wrong and then laughed in my father's face when he
explained that it triggered his PTSD. Is this how Austin police officers are supposed to act? Do
they laugh in the face of veterans who now face disabilities of their own after giving their measures
for this country? For Texas to love their veterans SO much, it is a shame that Officers
and
would laugh in a veterans face, threaten him and say they can do whatever they want. Are
they not supposed to uphold the law? Are these officers above it? Do they get to say what can and
cannot do because they have a badge? after calling the Kyle Police department who initially did
nothing until multiple residents had to call and complain about the noise coming from officer
yard, a Kyle PD officer came and gave them a noise violation. This is not
enough officers
constantly violate the noise ordination, they think they are
above the law and have zero disregard for their neighbors many of whom are veterans. I demand
that something be done about these officers, not only for their blatant disregard of the law but, for
the callousness they showed when laughing in my father's face as a US Army veteran. I would also
like to add that Officer
closed my ring finger on my right hand in the gate.
