NOTICE OF COMPLAINT
October 7, 2022
ICMS #: 2022-0897
On October 6, 2022, the OPO received a phone complaint.
The complainant alleges: He wants his ex-girlfriend to move her things out of his storage
unit. He moved some of his stuff outside of the unit SO she could get to her things. He called
his ex, ranting about getting her stuff out, thought he was talking to her but it turned out to
be Officer
on the phone. She asked him to come to the storage unit, saying they just
wanted to talk to him, he wasn't in trouble. He arrived to the storage place and there were
three officers. They asked him to let her keep her stuff in his storage for a few more days.
The complainant repeatedly said no. The officers continued to push the issue, even bringing
up his daughter. The complainant had already given his ex extra days and this has nothing
to do with his daughter. APD doesn't know the whole story. If it was the other way around,
it wouldn't be the same, he says, females call the cops all the time but a Black male never
wins. After 30 minutes of them pushing him to let her keep her things there, he noticed that
most of her stuff was moved back into the unit already SO he gave in and said ok. He gave
the lock to the officers. APD changed the lock on the unit and left his belongings outside
of it, and his stuff was consequently stolen. He is now missing at least $5,000 worth of
belongings, some of them belonging to his deceased brother, who was murdered and APD
never arrested the killer. Case
