On August 2, 2022, the OPO received a phone complaint.
The complainant alleges: APD gave her the wrong information and refused to give her
the correct information. APD refused to file a supplementary report indicating TXDOT did
not call them regarding a tow. TXDOT told her the officer was on site and the officer said
he was not. Basically, APD told her a lie. The officer told her they were not going to waive
the tow charges even though the car had not even arrived at the tow company address. All
APD could say is it happens to people every day. TXDOT did not call or e-mail about
towing her car.
This notice of complaint is a request for Internal Affairs to initiate an investigation to
determine if the employee conduct is within compliance of APD policy, Civil Service
Rules, and Municipal Civil Service Rules.
