NOTICE OF COMPLAINT
May 13, 2022
ICMS #: 2022-0365
On May 10, 2022, the OPO received an online complaint.
The complainant alleges: I work off-duty police services in and around the City of Austin
hired Detective
I have heard and know that he is skimming money off the top
of the rate the companies hire us (police) for and then holds off on paying the officers for
months and months and if you ask the companies they claim to have paid him already. So
he holds our money hostage we work for and since his fake company is the one that pays
us there is nothing we can do. This is theft from each and every hard working officer and
if the APD doesn't have specific policies to prevent this they should. Also why is it that
APD allows the officer to pay each officer working overtime? By allowing this there is no
telling how many thousands of dollars over the years he has taken out of cops pockets.
APD needs a policy to prevent officers from paying officers - my department does and its
much smaller than APD. It is becoming well known that this Detective is embezzling
thousands of dollars a month off of us hard working cops and is living a lavish lifestyle
that honestly no Detective does - does Austin really support this? What is your policy on
this?
This notice of complaint is a request for Internal Affairs to initiate an investigation to
determine if the employee conduct is within compliance of APD policy, Civil Service
Rules, and Municipal Civil Service Rules.
