NOTICE OF COMPLAINT
April 1, 2022
ICMS #: 2022-0224
On March 28, 2022, the OPO received a phone complaint.
The complainant alleges: The complainant's nephew passed away at a friend's house on
The responding detective,
,
told her that she knew her nephew because he
was a suspect in a couple of cases she is investigating. She felt that was not appropriate to say at
that time. The investigation is not going to be accurate because the detective is already biased and
does not care. When she asked Detective
about her nephew's body being moved, Detective
responded it was obvious there was no foul play and the body was moved to follow
instructions from EMS SO they could perform CPR, but previous information does not coincide
with that. When she inquired about her nephew's money and tennis shoes, Detective
responded that everything was at the morgue and that her nephew's shirt was cut up but the nice
belt he had on was still intact. She has spoken to Detective
on several occasions and the
detective has always responded by saying things that are very inappropriate. There has been no
compassion for the family.
This notice of complaint is a request for Internal Affairs to initiate an investigation to determine
if the employee conduct is within compliance of APD policy, Civil Service Rules, and Municipal
Civil Service Rules.
