NOTICE OF COMPLAINT
March 31, 2023
ICMS 2023-0248
On March 27, 2023, the OPO received a phone complaint.
The complainant alleges: He has a license and owns a few cannabis dispensaries in
Austin, and the
area. He deals with cancer patients and
The complainant traveled with 10lbs of CBD/hemp from
to Austin with his paperwork and license. When the complainant arrived at the
Austin
Officer
opened his luggage and threw his things on the
floor. The complainant asked the officer if he was going to take him to jail. The officer said
he was not going to. The officer refused to give the complainant his supervisor's name and
his badge number, but he did give the complainant his personal phone number. The
complainant called the officer several times for updates on his case. The officer was rude
and told him he could not test the product for five years and there is a waiting list. The
complainant requested a receipt for his product for tax purposes. The officer only gave him
a receipt for 13 of the products but he had 20 in his bag. The complainant also did not get
a receipt for a couple thousand dollars that was taken. The complainant ran a background
check on the officer and found out the officer is his neighbor in
which is too
much of a coincidence. When the complainant tried to call Officer
his phone
number, his wife's phone number, and his attorney's phone numbers were all blocked. The
complainant feels like he is being watched. The complainant follows the rules
and
procedures that Austin requires. The complainant is 41 years old and never committed a
crime in his life. The complainant asked about Austin rules for transporting his product
from
to Austin. The complainant has talked to the FBI and other APD officers
and there is no illegal way of bringing his product from any state to Austin. The
complainant wants to know what is going on. It was not right the way the officer
embarrassed him. If he committed a crime, he should have been arrested on the spot. He is
sure there are cameras in the
and video of the incident. His rights were violated,
and he feels very racially discriminated against. If he had been any other race the officer
would have looked at his paperwork and given him the same common respect that he was
giving. If the complainant cannot be reached, contact his lawyer,
who is a
retired FBI agent, and his attorney in
