NOTICE OF COMPLAINT
March 24, 2023
ICMS #: 2023-0229
On March 21, 2023, the OPO received an online complaint.
The complainant alleges: I have been away from home for a little while, a few months.
SO when i returned home my father was acting out of character by, being rude vulgure and
mean towards me. On
my Grandmother passed away, SO i couldn't deal with being
there. So i went to my fiances house for a few days.
I returned home to my Father
rambling about nonsense. So I invited my fiance in. When my father turned around and
saw him, he started to act irate. Asking him to leave he complied and walked out the door.
But continued yelling at me and becoming more aggressive. He continued to tell My fiance
to get out even though he had already stepped out the house. At that point of time he started
to shove me and yell at me. So i pushed him to get out of his reach because he has a history
of violence with me. He then balled up his fist like he was going to hit me. My fiance yelled
at him he better not, that's when he told me I wish you would as in push him again and he
was gonna hit me. I went outside to cal the police about the incident. when the police
arrived the officer asked what was the problem. SO i told him the situation, at this time i
was SO distraught. The officer asked if my father had pushed or hit me and i told him yes
he did. He then kept asking about the situation. My fiance asked the officer since he pushed
her isn"t that assault. So he asked her if she felt violated by my father pushing me I replied
yes SO he asked if i wanted to press charges and i replied yes. He then explains that since
its just a misdemeanor no one would be taken to jail. Officer
did not file up with
pressing charges after i asked to to file charges i feel violated and unheard as a citizen and
as a woman ,by the actions that was taken your making it seem that it is okay to assault
someone by the actions that you took and i don't feel it was acceptable and fair My father
now thinks it is okay to put his hand on me because no action was taken.
Witness info: My fiance was there during the entire altercation.
