NOTICE OF COMPLAINT
March 10, 2023
ICMS #: 2023-0205
On March 9, 2023, the OPO received a phone complaint.
The complainant alleges: His grandson is a concierge and was arrested while on his job.
The police called his grandson's manager, and the manager even told them that he was
doing his job by questioning why APD needed to get in the building. His grandson has
asthma and anxiety attacks, but the officers were not trying to hear that. There was not a
report filed, SO his daughter had a hard time getting information. The place his grandson
was picked up was five minutes from the police station, but it took APD two hours to get
him there. His grandson got out of jail the next day, but he still must appear in court. As
the concierge, his grandson lets officers in the building all the time, but maybe these
officers did not like a black man telling them what to do.
This notice of complaint is a request for Internal Affairs to initiate an investigation to
determine if the employee conduct is within compliance of APD policy, Civil Service
Rules, and Municipal Civil Service Rules.
