NOTICE OF COMPLAINT
February 17, 2023
ICMS #: 2023-0129
On February 13, 2023, the OPO received an online complaint.
The complainant alleges: An authorized individual came onto school property before
; the gentleman was asked to leave and left the property.
The gentleman returned at
and was again asked to leave. He refused and 911 was
called. At
Officers drove by, spoke to the gentleman, and then officers left without
speaking to school staff. The secure was lifted.
At
,
the gentleman returned for the third time in one day and 911 was called. We
called 911 multiple times for support and spoke to a supervisor,
Badge #
who
made a comment about the schools responsibility and said something to the effect of "if
the school really cared it would hire its own police officers or security officers" which goes
against the message Gov Abbott is sending for school safety.
We expect our police officers to be partners in responding to school safety issues.
This notice of complaint is a request for Internal Affairs to initiate an investigation to
determine if the employee conduct is within compliance of APD policy, Civil Service
Rules, and Municipal Civil Service Rules.
