NOTICE OF COMPLAINT
February 3, 2023
ICMS #: 2023-0091
On February 3, 2023, the OPO received an online complaint.
The complainant alleges: On
my wife,
contacted Austin PD after
she was in an accident where she got hit from behind. The officer that arrived on the scene
was
Officer
ran my wife's name for warrants apparently
where she had a warrant in
County which we were not aware of. Officer
then arrested
and it was at that point
contacted me to give me the news. I then
spoke to Officer
on my wife's phone and told him he does realize my wife
was just in a car accident and needs to go to the hospital. Officer
then responded to
me that he will take her to the hospital first and then to jail. Officer
also told me he
would call me back to give me the location of the keys to my truck SO I can go pick it up
from the location of the accident. Officer
lied to me about calling me back and he
didn't take my wife to the hospital either and just took her straight to jail. One thing I can't
stand is a liar especially from a public servant that has rules and regulations to follow when
it comes to the safety and health of people who have been in an accident regardless if they
have warrants or not. I also called numerous times and left messages to speak to Officer
but never heard back. Then the suspect that actually hit my wife from behind was
allowed to leave even though he did not have an actual driver's license but an ID card. Is
this the type of officers Austin hires and has representing for your town a bunch of liars
who do not care about the health and safety of civilians or follows Austin Police policy and
procedures?
heard the whole conversation between me and Officer
When she seen she
was not going to the hospital she told Officer
"I thought I was going to the Hospital".
Officer
response was no he is taking her straight to jail. Had no regard to
injuries after getting hit from behind in a car accident.
