On January 9, 2023, the OPO received an in-person complaint.
The complainant alleges:

departamento de policías isieron la revisión de mi persona y de mis documentos pero ellos
terminaron mi revisión y yo puede seguir hacia mi destino cuando yo llego a una tienda me
doy cuenta que no tenia mi billetera conmigo el cual ellos se habían quedado con ella y yo
llamo al 911 para poder localizar a los oficiales que estuvieron en ese momento cuando
me
detuvieron el cual si recibí respuesta y yo llegue al lugar donde fui detenido pero
ellos
daban por perdida mi billetera luego llego otro oficial y según el había encontrado mi
billetera cuando a mi ellos me la entregan me dicen que la revise si todo estaba bien pero
me sacaron $800 dólares. Ofc

I was stopped by the police department
and they searched my person and my documents. They finished my search and I continued
to my destination. When I arrived at a store I realize that I did not have my wallet with me;
they had kept it, and I called 911 to be able to locate the officers who were there when they
detained me. I did receive a response and I arrived at the place where I was detained but
they had lost my wallet. Then another officer arrived and according to him he had found
my wallet. When they handed it over to me they told me to check it if everything was fine
but they took $800 dollars from me. Ofc
This notice of complaint is a request for Internal Affairs to initiate an investigation to
determine if the employee conduct is within compliance of APD policy, Civil Service
Rules, and Municipal Civil Service Rules.
