NOTICE OF COMPLAINT
December 30, 2022
ICMS #: 2022-1168
On December 27, 2022, the OPO received an online complaint.
The complainant alleges: Because of a smoldering fire I was dragged out of my home and
handcuffed in 20 degree weather on
.
I have video evidence that the police
did not ring the doorbell which would have woken me and my dogs up. They kicked in the
back door security door and the inner door. They forced me SO sit freezing in my underwear
for at least a half hour before letting me back inside. This is unacceptable behavior by APD.
I demand to be recompensed for this terrible abuse of "authority" and demand the officer
that handcuffed me and forced me to sit outside in my underwear be disciplined. There are
damages to my home which will need to be remediated by the City of Austin.
This notice of complaint is a request for Internal Affairs to initiate an investigation to
determine if the employee conduct is within compliance of APD policy, Civil Service
Rules, and Municipal Civil Service Rules.
