NOTICE OF COMPLAINT
December 22, 2022
ICMS #: 2022-1140
On December 19, 2022, the OPO received a phone complaint.
The complainant alleges: Officer
responded to a 911 call because her sister pushed
their mother. Her sister, who is very well-versed, met the officer outside of the home first.
When the officer came into the house, he disregarded the mother. The officer should have
spoken to the mother because she was the one who made the 911 call. The officer told the
mother he did not want to hear it and asked her what she wanted him to do for her now.
The mother sat there crying and responded I guess nothing because you don't want to hear
my complaint or what happened. Officer
just left the home. There is a witness for
the incident. When she and her husband heard what happened, they called 911 again and
her husband requested an officer be sent out SO the mother could speak and make a police
report because she was the one who called the police in the first place. They said they
would send someone out, but no one ever showed up. The complainant's wife does not
think they are taking the incident seriously.
This notice of complaint is a request for Internal Affairs to initiate an investigation to
determine if the employee conduct is within compliance of APD policy, Civil Service
Rules, and Municipal Civil Service Rules.
