NOTICE OF COMPLAINT
December 16, 2022
ICMS #: 2022-1124
On December 13, 2022, the OPO received a phone complaint.
The complainant alleges: The complainant noticed his car was missing and reported it
stolen. Officer
came out and took his report. Around 10 minutes later
the officer returned saying that a fellow officer called him saying that he had the
complainant's car towed from his house.
The complainant thought there would be warnings, stickers, or contact with the owner
before towing a car. The complainant's car is in a tow yard now and he doesn't know how
he's going to get it out. The complainant was also concerned by the fact that he was
receiving conflicting information from 311, the officer, and the tow yard.
This notice of complaint is a request for Internal Affairs to initiate an investigation to
determine if the employee conduct is within compliance of APD policy, Civil Service
Rules, and Municipal Civil Service Rules.
