NOTICE OF COMPLAINT
November 23, 2022
ICMS #: 2022-1063
On November 23, 2022, the OPO received an online complaint.
The complainant alleges: I observed a Commercial Enforcement Officer in Truck #
tailgate a 18 wheeler, and shine the spot light in the drivers eyes from the rear left of the
truck. The officer then got on the passenger side of the tractor and continued to shine his
spotlight directly into the truck driver's eyes. All this took place as the truck driver was
trying to overtake 2 slow moving trucks in the center and right lane. This officer obviously
didn't care about the safety of the public. By blinding a driver with direct light to the eyes
while driving at 75+ mph, this officer could've caused a major catastrophe. We expect
more from our professionals enforcement personnel. I would suggest looking at his
cameras if possible. This was a careless and unprofessional act of aggressive driving. No
he didn't have his emergency lights on either.
This notice of complaint is a request for Internal Affairs to initiate an investigation to
determine if the employee conduct is within compliance of APD policy, Civil Service
Rules, and Municipal Civil Service Rules.
