On November 22, 2022, the OPO received a phone complaint.
The complainant alleges: The complainant's long-time friend and Iraq veteran,
was hit by a car on
weekend. The complainant is
emergency and
VA contact. She was told that the people in the car backed over him after they hit him and
then put his body in the bushes. The complainant has information that is vital to the case
and has been unable to get in touch with the good detectives that she knows are
investigating it.
The complainant has spoken with a homicide detective,
, who has given her
completely false information. They had a conversation about the case, that made the
complainant feel suspicious of Detective
She thinks it's possible that Detective
is trying to cover up what happened, that maybe whoever tried to kill her friend is
a cop or a cop's kid. She tracked a phone related to the incident to a landfill and then APD
evidence. The car from the incident is in APD impound and is vital to the case.
is in the hospital, in recovery, but unable to speak. She was at the hospital and saw a
cop sitting outside of where
is. She asked the charge nurse why the cop was there and
the charge nurse agreed that it was suspicious and said she would try to keep
safe.
The complainant is worried that they are trying to make sure

This notice of complaint is a request for Internal Affairs to initiate an investigation to
determine if the employee conduct is within compliance of APD policy, Civil Service
Rules, and Municipal Civil Service Rules.
